WHO WE ARE?

VolTRan Robotics is the official high school robotics team of Pertevniyal High School, based in Istanbul, Turkey. We were established in 2017 as part of the globally renowned FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition), and have been continuing our journey since 2021 in the VEX Robotics Competition. Our team consists of highly motivated students who come together to explore the intersection of science, technology, engineering, and creativity. As of 2023, VolTRan is composed of 20 members, divided into Mechanical, Software, PR, and Management sub-teams. Our mission goes beyond robotics. We aim to cultivate leadership, collaboration, and innovation through hands-on experience and global competition. Every robot we build, every code we write, and every connection we make is driven by a desire to learn and lead.

COMPETITIONS

FIRST ROBOTICS

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC): A global program that combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. FRC pushes us to solve real-world engineering challenges while promoting gracious professionalism. Each season, teams of students and mentors design, build, and program industrial-sized robots to compete in a themed game, requiring not only technical expertise but also creativity, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Beyond the competition itself, FRC fosters innovation, leadership, and collaboration, preparing students for future careers in STEM while building a strong sense of community and global connection.

VEX ROBOTICS

VEX Robotics Competition (VRC): The largest and fastest-growing robotics competition in the world. VEX allows us to develop competitive robots within strict design constraints, encouraging creativity and resilience. Each season introduces a brand-new challenge, pushing teams to strategize, prototype, and refine their designs in order to outperform their opponents on the field. The competition not only strengthens engineering and programming skills but also teaches critical lessons in problem-solving, communication, and adaptability. Through collaboration with teammates and interaction with other teams worldwide, VRC builds a strong culture of innovation and teamwork, inspiring students to apply their knowledge beyond the competition arena.
